Secondary ringer
Secondary ringer. Hear the call with your headset off.
Take your headset off and you can still hear the phone. Crulon plays the ringtone on a second speaker too, like your laptop or a desk speaker, while the call itself stays in your headset.
On every plan, in Chrome and Edge.
Pick a second speaker.
In Settings › Audio, choose any speaker your computer can play through. The ringtone and message tones play there as well as in your headset.
Select Test secondary ringer to hear it before a call comes in.

Also play the ringtone and message tones on another speaker, so you hear calls without wearing your headset. Call audio stays on your system output.

Test secondary ringerThe ring on both. The call in your headset.
When a call comes in, both speakers ring. Pick up, and the conversation plays only in your headset, so the room doesn't hear your customer.
New texts and mentions chime on the second speaker too.

The room hears the ring, never your customer.
It keeps up when you unplug.
Unplug your headset and your computer switches to its own speakers. If that's the speaker you chose, Crulon rings it once, not twice.
Plug the speaker into another port or pair it again, and Crulon finds it by name. If it stops responding, Crulon keeps trying to reconnect it.
When your speakers change
- Headset unplugged
- Rings once on Built-in speakers
- Headset back in
- Rings on both again
- Speaker on another port
- Found again by name
- Speaker stops responding
- Keeps trying to reconnect
- Two speakers, same name
- Asks you to pick one
If it stops ringing, you'll know.
Crulon checks your second speaker all the time, not only when a call comes in. If it can't ring for a minute or two, a notice stays on screen until it's fixed, and the bell tells you too.
An incoming call says so as well, so you're never left wondering why the room was quiet.

Questions about the secondary ringer.
What is a secondary ringer?
A second speaker that plays your ringtone, so you hear calls when your headset is off. The call itself stays in your headset.
How do I set it up?
Open Settings › Audio in Crulon, choose a speaker under Secondary ringer, and select Test secondary ringer. If your speakers aren't listed by name, select Show my speakers and allow microphone access on every visit.
Why does it need my microphone?
Your browser only shows speaker names to sites that may use the microphone. Crulon doesn't record anything to list them. Choose "Allow on every visit": a one-time allow runs out, and the ringer stops with it.
Which browsers work?
Chrome and Edge. In other browsers, calls ring on your main speaker or headset only.
Will my customer be heard on the second speaker?
No. Only the ringtone and message tones play there. The call stays on your headset or main speaker.
Does it ring when Crulon is closed?
No. Like browser calling, it rings while Crulon is open. To ring in a background tab, keep Crulon active in Chrome's performance settings.
What if the speaker gets unplugged?
Calls keep ringing in your headset or main speaker. If the second speaker is still missing after a minute or two, Crulon tells you on screen and in the bell.
Never miss the ring again.
Sign up with one seat, pick a second speaker, and hear your next call from across the room.
